I believe that when women feel their best, they move mountains.
That impact goes farther than we often give ourselves credit for, too. Not only do our families benefit, but our friends, our colleagues, our entire communities. Some women inspire the world. Just think how our culture would be different if Oprah was too tired, too depressed, or in too much pain to do her best work.
Why do I feel so strongly about this?
I’ve spent most of my life struggling with my health and feeling like I haven’t been able to live up to my potential. Sometimes I look back and think about how different my life would have been if I had been able to stay awake and focus in high school.
If I didn’t have to skip so many of my 7am statistics classes in college (turns out I’m really good at it… who knew?). If I had been able to make dance a more integral part of my life had I had more control over my weight. If I didn’t have that panic attack that put an internal pall on my second daughter’s first Christmas, the first big family holiday my husband and I hosted in our new home.
Luckily, I’ve had the determination, abilities, and pure grit to be “successful” despite a litany challenges, and I absolutely believe in not living in the regrets of your past to embrace your current place in life.
But sometimes, I do indulge in a little bit of “what if…” I’m only human.
But that “what if” thinking is what brought me here. What if I can use my skills, knowledge, and experience to help other women live their best life? So many women, mothers especially, are ignored by conventional medicine.
It’s time to be the change and create something new.
I have witnessed woman after woman- from patients to friends to family members- fight the good fight in effort to feel normal again. They do everything their doctors say they should do. Try this medicine. Go see that doctor. Count calories. Get more exercise. And when they get to the end of the list and STILL haven't seen a change… well, there's nothing else you can do but accept it - whatever your "it" may be.
By this point, we're brainwashed into the belief that this is our "new normal."
It doesn't have to be this hard.
It's time to take back control over your body and live your potential.
Why am I the person to help you?
I am an Orthopedic Physical Therapy Specialist and have 10 years of experience as a PT.
I also have a degree in Public Health Sciences, which is all about supporting healthy behavior changes.
I recently completed a year long women’s health coaching certification with the Integrative Women’s Health Institute-the only health coaching institute that focuses solely on the unique needs of women- that included a deep dive into the science of functional nutrition.
I have managed my own Celiac and Hashimoto’s diseases using a blend of conventional and alternative medicine for 15 years.
I have 3 beautiful daughters and understand first-hand the importance of considering the impact of pregnancy and childbirth on all of the systems of the body…as well as the crazy life of being a mom.
I truly care.
